  THE TOM HURST AWARD FOR SMOKE-FREE HOSPITALS
 

This Award, made annually, and named in honour of the founder of the International Network Towards Smoke-Free Hospitals, is given to hospitals judged to have developed an innovative non-smoking policy, in consultation with staff, patients and visitors.

 
The Award is offered to
Encourage the introduction of non-smoking policies in hospitals. Recognise innovative approaches to implementing such policies. Communicate creative ideas in such programmes. Demonstrate the leadership role of hospital professionals in complying with smoke-free environmental policies.
Reward hospitals for taking the difficult decision of introducing smoke-free policies.
